@Polo, you can set the Standby and Main Menu session books to always display in the activity menu's running apps section and minimize the MP that way, or set Entertainment Menu as shortcut on Long Press Vol-Up/Down and that will also minimize things including the walkman unless pressed on the standby screen then it opens the Entertainment menu :) * +

If you set Entertainment Menu on a long press vol-key it will no longer switch track when pressed if the walkman player is running, I have Entertainment vol-up, and file manager vol-down, quite handy (those are hidden shrtcuts though, you need to set them using customize_upgrade.xml) *
