Lol its an HTC! I HIGHLY doubt it will be R2000, it'll probably be around R4000 and up. Lol i honestly DOUBT you'll be able to modd its cam, the people who buy devices like the HTC G1 are people who want a PDA Phone that lets you do things like give a desktop Web browsing experience, IM, GMail, watch movies, play great games and listen to a bit of Music the Camera is just there for quick shots. * +

It might be cheaper because its opensource and there is not much extra cost for the software unlike with the licences they have to pay for window's mobile So R2000 is not unreasonable * +
