Now I've plugged them into my new phone i then play the desired track and for some reason the music sounds faint and tinny and i can barely feel the base coming thru. Anybody know what might be the reason for this?

Its the phone not the headphones. For example you get a great sound from a w800/w810i with the headphones. Plug them into a w850 and the quality drops. Its down to the acoustics in the phone * +

My w850i sounds ok to me. Try goin to the equalizer and turn em all up to full. * +

May sound silly but i had that once and turning phone off and back on sorted it. But check your equaliser and obviously your overall volume on side of phone. * +
