I think you need the disk, but i know i can connect without using the Mobile Networking Wizard using Vista, but if you use Opera Mini and goto www.sonyericsson.com and get the drivers you could um.... 
then you would be stuck with the driver's on your phone and no way to get them on your lappy. * +

You could find a friend with a NEWER Sony Ericsson then the w300i and install thier disk as it should also have the w300i driver's on it, or do what rolo saying and get yourself a dongle. * +

Ebay just go to internet cafe you can download the pc suite and drivers from se website *
