My sony ericsson k800i has just gone all weird on me, when switched on it wont get past the boot up stage n just stays switched on for 10 mins with the sony ericsson logo on screen, then auto switchs itsself off after bout 10 mins, is it stuffed or can it be fixed? Does it have a virus maybe? * +

Its not a virus.have u tried takin batt out for 5mins?failing that u can update firmware at se website if u got pc. * +

Yeah left battery out for a couple of hours whilst at work but still didnt help, i've done a search using search feature n keep readin bout erom updates? Im rubbish with technical stuff but will get a mate to check on his pc as u advised * +

My 1st k800i did something similar. Jus didnt turn bk on at all. Now i got a k850i thats faulty after a week and has to be changed. Fantastic! * +

Sounds like the NONE crucial variables of the EROM are corrupt, althogh when you say it switches off after 10 mins, thats new, its happend a few times to me both with w800 and 2 seperate k800i also my sisters w550, BUT none of those switched off after 10 minutes so this may not work, * +

when i say none crucial variables i mean none of the code that the phone needs to bootup, the phone can fix these pieces of code in the EROM itself by performing its own litts sys check, kinda like the old windows did when you cut the power without shutting down the computer properly, but the phone isint as quick as a PC and takes longer something like an hour depending how much needs fixed, * +

DONT switch the phone on yet, now plug in the carger and wait around a minute to ensure its charging the switch it on and leave it for an hour maybe an hour and a half while the phone does its thing, but yours is switching off affter 10 minutes so you may need to have it fully flashed INCLUDING a fresh EROM/EEPROM with the software, any phone shop that unlocks phones can do that for around 15 uk * +
