Internal storage gets corrupted more easily, so they separated the os from that by using the ram of the phone....makes sense, not so? Also, if you decide to install any unsigned app, u are risking having to reflash firmware, or resetting device, and loose all contacts etc on the phone...... * +

But I get the point, why not use a separate chip to house ONLY the Os?.....might be a good idea.... * +

exactly my point uncle ungers :-) why advertise sumtin with 768 mb of ram,when three quarters of it is unusable anyway??? or maybe they could put more ram on the phones to compensate for the big chunk the os takes up??? :-) *
