Just make sure the online company is legit....I almost got conned 3 years ago by a lady called Sandra when I wanted to buy my first playbook......tech-something was the company name, cannot remember....anyway, she told me if I pay before 10, my playbook will arrive at my door around 14:00.....problem is, the company is in Bloemfontein, so I smelled a rat...... * +

I did some online research regarding this company, and found bitter complaints on a blog of thousands of people that got ripped off by this lady.....rather go to pricecheck.co.za. and look for the phone you want, they only list legitimate sellers, and the price of the item....in the end I drove to Johannesburg and bought my playbook directly from Ca-cell, they are listed on pricecheck....cos I didn't want to wait.....good luck!.... * +

Just keep in mind, if you pay someone money upfront, and they fail to honour the deal, u cannot charge them with theft....they didn't technically steal the money, you handed it over, if its cash, cheque, transfer etc.....the only thing u can do is charge them with breach of agreement/contract.....even if they signed a legitimate document, there isn't much u can do.....the law is on the side of the skelms, cos u have to make sure about the background of the person or company.... * +

For that very same reason, u cannot get locked up anymore for bad debt, the one that supplied a service to you, or borrowed u money has to make sure u can pay them back.....if not, they can claim your assets, and if u have none, they loose out.....but still you cannot go to jail for it, the law is protecting you.....but if it is theft, find someone to bring u peanuts in jail..... * +

i was more thinking of using an overseas company. one that sells unlocked phones. pay by paypal, if the phone doesn't show up i can just request the money back from paypal * +

and i had a look at some new chinese android phones. im seriously considering one called Little Pepper (i think). its 100 us dollars and has better specs than the iphone4. these chinese companies have really stepped up their game *
