My 9900 crashed last week... Kept going in a loop where it would just freeze n restart... Constantly. Hooked it up to BB Desktop Manager... It wiped the phone but it still kept looping. Everything got backed up couple days earlier anyway... N I had the latest firmware on... Do u think its fixable? Or will they give me a refurb? Its defo a warranty fault not user damage. * +

They will give u a refurb......its easier that way, considering the thousands of returns they gotta handle......works the same as Dstv....they simply exchange the unit, and send the faulty one away to await its turn to be repaired......but they might make u wait a week or two while they check out your faulty phone, but in fact its just buying time to obtain a refurb for you....unless u absolutely insist on keeping your pin, but that can take forever, and no guarantee the phone can be fixed...... * +

So u might end up with a refurb anyway, they will probably tell u something went wrong with the mainboard,(after u waited 3 weeks) even if they never touched the phone...Rather take a refurb and get done with it....good luck..... * +

I was guessing that... my sis posted the phone on Monday... my network now give u a pre paid envelope to post your phone... I received a email the next day, Tuesday, saying their technicians are examining the phone n we email again with news... no news yet... I just want a 9900 back... its weird going back to a 9780 from a 9900 * +

Cool, I suspect bootloader eeprom, containing your Mbr, cos bbsak can't erase that.....But they will just say it was a software issue..... * +

You can connect to bootloader for loading new firmware, but bbsak don't wipe that......I can do that in Dos on a pc, deleting and creating a new MBR on phone, then the JVM apploader, it identifies the hardware in the phone, and from there u can load new firmware....ever seen bbsak complaining about JVM when using it to wipe your phone?..... * +
