I got a 9300,and on my network settings got options of 2G,3G and 2G,3G only.my brother's fone don't have the 3G only option.is it software that should be downloaded,and the OS.where download it from?when downloading,it jumps from 3G to edge,resulting slow downloads or download failed.know it will suck battery power,but its frustrating.Is it advisable to change settings? * +

yes, those options are OS specific, you'll need a pc and download the latest firmware for the phone from blackberry site, it's readily available * +

Try going to network options, select manual, and search for available networks........if it shows 3g available, select it.......but keep the settings on manual.......hope this helps...... * +

@ungers,that's just the point,in network mode there isn't that option.only 2G and 3G.if I do get it on 3G,it disconnects automatically to edge again.if you do a network search for available networks,I get 3G available,selects it,but DC again * +

For some reason 8ta don't like it if the phone moves around when on 3g.....drops signal etc.......When downloading, keep the phone in one place...... * +

My download failed the other day, i reckon its due to 2g 3g option selected. With 3g only option selected I never had any issues so try as you can to have it on 3G only or EDGE only option * +
