cry2 its dead... Still saying volume is write protected... Guess I'll have to get a new one. It was a kingston micro sd hc 8gig... But atleast I could still recover the files from it. Thanks for the help ungers. Apreciate it * +

that happened to me once with my old samsung, I had one of those adapter thingys that u use to put the memory card in a camera or car radio. I unlocked it on that b*tton thingy, put it in the camera then took the card out of the adapter and put it in my phone. it might have been luck but it seemed to fix the problem * +

@raffi, write protection is simply disabling one of the pins on the card, I think the circuitry failed just the right way by a fluke, causing the card to be write-protected.....cos he was still able to retrieve the files on it........an adaptor won't work in this case..... * +

No problem, raffi.......basically a micro-sd cannot be write-protected by itself, it has to be done by software such as drivelock, or an adaptor with a toggle on the side, the adaptor is just an extension of the open pins on the sd card, enabling it to fit into other devices.....so the lock disables the connecting circuitry on the adaptor, not the card itself...... *
