i have got a blackberry 8520. i keep gettin weird messages up on the screen and my contact list freezes everytime i try to use it and i have to pull the battery out to restart the phone. i took it into a phone shop today and i was told he software is corrupted and needs sortin and i can do it at home with leads. Can anyone explain how to actually do this as the phone shop was no help at all :( * +

Download dotnet 3.5.Download blackberry desktop software. Then download the phone software for your type of phone.Install everything, and search for vendor.xml. DELETE it.Connect your phone to pc. Then you just need to follow the instructions onscreen to update. * +

If u did everything right, it should update, otherwise look for update on desktop software.Even if it is the same os, click update anyway. * +

Otherwise u gotta use BBsak, google for it, to wipe the phone first. Then try again to update. * +
