if u do a security wipe u will hard reset the phone n loose all personal data unless u have backed up data on to a laptop or PC with Blackberry Desk Top Manager, if its the security code where u have 10 attempts n get all 10 attempts wrong then the phone just hard resets automatically * +

in future I suggest your friend should be more careful who handles his phone, its not the network or manufacturers fault in end of day... * +
