each BB has a unique pin which acts like a I.D for the user. u swap the pin with other users and add each other like contacts on Blackberry Messenger (BBM) and then u can instant message with them and with people abroad free * +

u need to contact your service provider to see if they even offer the Blackberry Service on your current plan... if not then u may need to jump to a new plan or rival network *
