depends on what u want n what u are looking for. if u new to Blackberrys and want a beginners type of model u are looking ideally on the 8520 Curve... but if u want faster net browsing n better camera n a higher quality of phone then maybe the Bold or Torch... but u paying quite a fair but for them models * +

all blackberries work the same, but i agree with aznmitz, the most popular entry level blackberry would be a curve 8520, or curve 3G. * +

u would find memory being a difference, 3G and none 3G being a big difference if u don't wish to use wifi n depending on your networks 3G strength... the net on a 8520 compared to say a 9300 does differ a lot, the quality n build of a handset also differs, if u hold a 8520 n say a 9780 u can just feel n see the differences... official OS 6 is available on some of the models not all n also if we... * +

look at older Blackberry models (some are still the current range in some countries) some don't even have wifi... * +
