on some models such as the 8520 if your GPRS logo in top right hand corner is all in small case like gprs then that means your Blackberry service is not active or added to your account. it needs to be in all upper case like GPRS. for models such as the Bold u need the Blackberry logo active in the right hand corner instead * +

if u do plan to go abroad with your Blackberry and would like to avoid expensive bills n costs then go to your 'manage connections' then 'mobile network options' n make sure data roaming is off... u will not be able to use network data for browsing n emails, instead, try to use wifi * +

if u are off loading a old Blackberry or selling it on or getting it replaced n swapped then u can clear the whole phone of your personal data n have a peace of mind by going to 'options' then 'security options' then 'security wipe' ... here u can wipe the memory card too if u wish to * +

a common problem a newbie to Blackberrys face is bluetooth transfer. in order to recieve files such as videos, music, pictures n ringtones etc... u must make your phone visible in settings n pair with the other device 1st. u must then go to the 'media' icon then go to options n then 'recieve by bluetooth' on. after this, thats when u just send over the files smoothly... simple * +
