Hi, 8 months ago i bought my 1st car, an '93 Honda Prelude Si with the rare f22b motor. Last weekend i took it to have the spacing between my cams and valves adjusted to the correct gaps, wich is 0.25mm int. and 0.30mm exh. Now that the motor perfoming that it should i gave it a good revving into the limiter. As murphy would have his way, i broke the rings in 2 of my cylinders..... * +

If you have the time to do it then strip it down and rebuild it, if not then an exchange is the order of the day * +

....leading to high sump compression, smoke, smoke and lots of smoke. Now i know the best would be to rebuild the motor completely. Mains, big ends, rings, pistons, headset and bottom set. Honda was so kind to give me a jolt in my blood pressure, R11,998,00. Aftermarket i could only get estimates as they need to see the parts to give me something similar, around R4000,00 - R5000,00. ..... * +

And an almost new H22A vtec motor costs in the region of R7500,00 and then ill only need a good aftermarket ecu. Id like to see your insights and thoughts. And details on who i can phone for advice. Thanx in advance. Im in Pretoria. Much appreciated. * +
