if you mean removing everything in front of the turbo and mounting a bell mouth with a mesh screen directly to the turbo,i think your time and effort could be better spent. People do this in racing applications and dyno shootouts etc where the environment is fairly controlled-ie: clean intake air,it represents a small loss in intake restriction. For a road car though- * +

that tiny possible increase in power and response,would hardly be worth it. Having no filter will obviously allow alot more foreign matter into the engine -dust,bugs,small children etc decreasing the longevity of the motor. So in short,don't bother. * +
