i have 16s on my 3dr 99 corsa. tyres are 16/195 40. my problem is that they rub on the rear arches..what can i do to stop this. i had the idea of changing the shocks or springs. would i get a new kit that could help raise the rear up a bit ? or would maybe parts off a astra or other opel fit or help in some way. * +

or i seen some wheel arches from a combat kit they are a more roundy shape rater than flat like the stok ones. but i cant afford to by a whole kit just the arche at the moment i think it would look cr*p though * +

stiffer rear shocks may help, do the tyres rub all the time or just wit passengers in the back? Go down a size-185 instead of 195. If they just catching the lip of the arch, you could try grinding the lip away slightly. Depends how much they rubbing * +

they rub when its just me when i go on bumpy roads but its not to bad. or quite alot when its full of people. it seams the rear right gets it the most its rubbing off the plastic on the arch and making shallow cuts on the tyre. how can i go down to 185 tyres they wont fit on my alloys will they? but i likr the idea of stiffer shocks just need to know what ones and from where * +

there's normally a bit of leeway with wheels, what width are they? 6 or 7 inch wide? How much is it lowered? What shocks are on at the mo? * +

its all stock. just took a ruler too my wheel they are about 8 1/2 inch wide * +

ok, stock height get some stiff shocks. Don't know what places u got in ireland, u may have to google. Look for koni, monroe spax, they should all do uprated standard shocks * +
