Got a 98 ford laser tracer, engine packd up 2day. Its a 1.3 carb. Now im wondering if i could drop in a 2.0l mazda egi motor? What conversions would have 2 be done, will i need 2 change the gearbox aswel? Im not looking 2 build a full on racecar tho. Just want it running well and good. And around how much will i be looking at? Im in SA * +

The motor costs R4750 at sa autoparts,then you still need management. Bant help with the rest though but i think the gearbox should work * +

Go look at the scr*pyards for a smashed 323 thats got the 1.6i motor. They good enough to scare sum 1.6i golfs * +

Doin a fe conv is gona cost u a fortune. D gearbox on d b3 only fits d b5 n b6! D f6 n fe uses d same gearbox tho. Sides haft is another matter as d inner splines on d fe cv's r wider than d b3's. Than u need a hp pump in d fueltank nd a managment for fuel nd ignition. Also d wiring loom wil need sum work nd ul hav to buy a seperate afm. Cud cost u 17k plus. *
