While replacin a distributor, u shud make sure wat d position of d rotor shud b in order to have ur ignition timing correct. Then after uve replaced it u shud use a timing light to fine tune d timing by gettin d tdc mark on d crank pulley to run on d 8degree mark on d timing cover. Im asuming ur refering to ur rwd mazda? *

Yeah,there can be acute differences between dizzy set ups,so putting the new one on in exactly the same position doesn't mean the timing will be right. *
