what's the difference between a 318is and a regular 318? and what's your opinion on these cars... is it worthwhile buying? how economical are they? and what are some of the things to look out for when buying one? thanx :) * +

Im planning to put that motor in an e30 lol so i researched it.its a potent motor, bmw built a race version of it called the s42 and they managed 315hp with n/a tuning * +

Yeah, that was a bit of a con. The British Touring Car Championship featured 2.0 saloons based on road cars. BMW's 320i for the road had a six cylinder engine but they used the four cylinder unit for the race cars. Not nearly the same car then, and quite suspect how they got away with it. * +

They wouldn't have gotten away with that,that s42 was stroked to a 2l * +
