Read the instruction manual to see the colour codes,one wire should be connected to a constant live meaning that even when u got the ignition turned off there's still power in that wire,the 2nd wire normally is the ignition wire meaning there will only be power running when the key is on,the constant live wire keeps your memory,(all the settings u made on the deck)the ignition wire turns off your deck when u switch the key off, come on man u cant prove your friend right it isn't rocket science * +
