Dohc is wat is says.. An engine wit double overhead cams haft configuration. In concept twincam is d same setup wit jst 1 lil diffrence.. D cams r identical twins! That means ud b able to swop them between intake nd exhaust witout makin a diffrence. * +

**So what gives the TwinCam an odd 15kW or so more power? With the DOHC the main cam has a s haft extending out the Head with a pulley and has interlocking gear to drive the 2nd/slave cam internally, both cams on the dohc then turns simultaneously. And with the TwinCam both cams hafts extend with 2 seperate pulleys externally but once again they turn simultaneously.. Both cases they are simultaneous * +

Rubbish. Its just two terms for the same thing. DOHC is just pointing out that they're mounted above the head. * +

If its Rubbish then whats the 4AGE? It has 2x cams hafts bt it aint a TwinCam hey! Would it then be a SOHC or DOHC? I know an 8valve would be a SOHC but we're talking 16valve motor here... DOHC and TwinCam is similar but this topic is for the forum users to post the difference between them...

Isnt twin cam motors always dohc, where would they put the second cam? To me its the same thing, double or twin, tomato , tamato ,just a diff term to tell you it has 2 cams and the 1.6 dohc ballade makes the same amount of power as a 4age in the rsi conquest * +

**LoL why does the old TwinCam 160i (94/95 model or Baby Camry as they are also known) have more kW output than the 1998-2000 model Corrolla 160i which has a single cam pulley? Old corrolla 96kW and the 98/2000 model 79kW... Correct me if im wrong but why the odd 15kW difference? * +
