U dont need an altenator when starting an engine.. Its either the selenoid on the starter or the battery level is too low to turn the starter... Could even be the keylock... * +

Its a mazda 323,81model.Sumtimes it starts on its own but then again it dont wanna start and i hav 2 do a running start * +

Get the starter fixed... Clearly the selenoid is faulty (it doesnt lift the gear wheel up to the flywheel) * +
