in the uk the only rating you get is a letter after the size i.e 225/18/45V. the 225 is the width, ther18 is the wheel size or internal circle size, the 45 is the height and the V means it is good up to 169mph. there are 7 or 8 different letters with the lowest being 92mph. * +

i know about tyre sizes. I have 205-40-17w. I know its 17 inch, 205 the width and 40 being the profile. I just saw some writing on it sayin treadwear 160 just wanted to know what it meant. I have pirelli p7000 205-40-17w tyres * +
