Can anyone please tell me what the engine model number is on this car? Is it an M43 an what are the most common probs on these cars? Any info will be much appreciated, thanx. * +

there are plenty of e46 forums if you have a computer and internet. There is a recurring problem with rear sub frames on e46s, apart for that just make sure its serviced well etc. If its a 2000 car you're looking at rememver the cars nearly 9 years old so will have wear and tear etc. * +

Cooling system eg water pipes and radiator tend to give up.they use the same motor as the ones in the 318ti which is a n42/43. .brilliant motor if you take care of it but than again it can easily be the worst headache u have ever experienced if you dont keep a watch on the temp and service it * +

They use timing chains. .but thats still not a reason not to buy one lol. . *
