Subject: Backfiring bike

Placing it in a lower slot effectively raises the needle, making it richer. Just make note of your initial settings. Also, before making any changes,do the basic things-clean air filter, new spark plug and fresh fuel... Back firing is caused by unburnt mixture igniting in the header pipe or even near the exhaust valve, this ignition can be caused by carbon deposits or exhaust valve staying open too- * +

long(a timing issue). Another thing to check is the gasket that seals the exhaust header to the cylinder, leaks there can cause backfiring problems as well as premature exhaust valve wear. Another easier alternative is to just take your bike to a bike shop and say ''oi ! Fix it!'' * +
