The successor to the 1400 champ but this time in fwd, powered by a renault sourced 1.6 motor producing 64kw with 128nm,it looks like a fiat bakkie crossed with a corsa bakkie,it has a 800kg loading capacity, what do yourl think? Will it fill the shoes of the 1400 champ? Will we see them in the future with the boosted out of them on the drag strips like the champ or is it just a flop or a good bakkie in the half tonner category? * +

wel my dad got a champ. it feels like a tin can on wheels. he had a 120y bakkie b4 this. i think th 1400 is a legend but it really feels outdated by todays standards. * +

as much as i hate fwds i think its th way 2 go wid half tonners since most r used 4 light deliveries n not serious loading. th corsa n bantam proved it. * +

I hav to agree wit gtr on dat 1. Im also rwd fan bt in d light of building a nt so expensive bakkie, its important to base it on a exsisting platform nd drivetrain. Nd yeah, d 1400's building quality came under serious suspision d past few years. Geez, havnt it bn for renault, nissan wudnt hav any s.a models on d market.. * +

Rwd is more expensiv n props haft n diff wil mean smaller loading bay. Rwd wil b 2 expensiv n also not competitive in space compared 2 corsa, bantam n strada so nissan is forced 2 go fwd. * +
