Guys I need ur help! When I accelerate fairly hard the car tends to throw out a huge cloud of black smoke when she passes 4000rpm. I took it to the dealer, bosh electronics and every fkn place u can think of and no one knows what the problem is. It isnt the cat/lumber sensor because she doesnt have one or the CO2's. The airfilter is also not the problem. Can anyone please tell me what the problem is..? * +

It isnt the rings because its black smoke not blue, and she pulls really well and she doesnt uses any oil..so I dunno. Im really disapointed with the dealers for not solving the prob. Some say its the fuel quality but thats bull dust. * +

M42 is a 1798cc 8v, they replaced the old M40 engine with the M42 on the 316's late 1994. Its actually a very smooth torquey engine. * +

Sorry dude but the M42 is 1796cc was first put into the E30 318is and then into the first E36 318is models the 1.9 16v engine is the M44 now if you dont believe me check it on the web !! * +
