Hi guys. My mates just buying a p reg 1.6 16v for 700 quid. Is there any common faults or things he should look out for on this car? Any help would be great as his last cheap car blew up after 2 weeks! . *

That's terribly overpriced. They're all being scr*pped,as they're made of terrible quality materials,and part availability is drying up. Look at things like door mirrors and handles,they're dissolving. The cambelts are expensive to replace so noone bothers - so they snap and the car is a write off. Two years time and they'll be near extinct,like many poor quality modern cars - Citroen Xantia etc. *

Oops, he said yesterday what he was thinking of doing was getting the cambelt changed just after buying it- oh lol. Thanks for advice, much appreciated. *
