just passed my test so treat myself to a black ford fiesta 1.4 zetec on R plate.now i aint gonna lie i can build a pc blindfolded but dnt have a clue with cars so i played it smart and got haynes manual.just wanted to know if you guys got any tips in generl maintenance or even specific to this car.thanks in advance. * +

Keep a good eye on oil level! Them zetec se engines dont like to run low! And if the oil hasnt bin changed in the last 5000mls, u can start wiv a nice easy oil and fillter change! * +

its been done by the book since it came out the showroom so oil and filter should be ok till mot due in september but thanks for the tip.any other known issues?it seems to run pretty sweet.turned over 1st time cold this mornin which is handy where i live lol * +

Your probly best leaving it alone then! Just keepin an eye on coolant, fluids and oils, tyre tread and presures! Ther not a lot that goes rong wiv that car, my ex got one! But she let the oil run low and killed the engine! * +

By the time the oil light comes on, its to late! Get the dip stick out once a week! Make sure the level is between the 2 lines! * +
