My '85 Volkswagen Polo Coupe S is named as such because it was made by Volkswagen,its the Polo model,its the Coupe version of the Polo,and it has the Sports trim. Ive added nothing to indicate that it now has a power:weight ratio of 200bhp:ton,though i should really badge it as the european version,because that was the same car as the UK-only S but with more power and a GT badge,and mine now has much more of a GT personality - though with nearly 3x the power of the S and double the power of the * +

..the GT. incidentally,i wouldn't say Volkswagen is the first name and Polo the surname. On the contrary,Volkswagen is the family name,and Polo the name given to that particular model - so its the other way around. Polo is its first name,and Volkswagen is its surname. With GT etc being its middle name initials. * +
