Subject: 2013 F1 Season

The powertrains are all totally brand new for 2014. Nobody has a jump on anyone else really. By the time Honda left, the engines were frozen and their engine in F1 in 2008 would have been exactly the same as it was if it were used now in 2013, same as everyone elses. So they have lost nothing really in development time, they got a fresh start like every other engine maker * +

first practice, and the little kraut tops the time sheets, both ferrari's and mercedes showing good potential, mclaren somewhat lagging, but it's only practice. roll on saturday for qualifying....... * +

Lotus was exceptional on its tyres. The red bull might be the outright fastest but it is meaningless this year if the tyres get chewed up so much. Was amazing how Raikonnen had only pitted twice and was still faster on his older tyres than the Ferrari and the Red Bull. He probably contributed a lot to that as well with his driving but that's a big deal * +

well although it's way too early to be certain i gotta say kimi is looking a different class to the others in terms of skill, whether the lotus will hold up in different conditions is another matter. * +

was great to see kimi on the top step, amazing drive, but he's a wiley old pro. the ferrari's look menacing, lets see how the tyres handle malaysia, oh and mclaren? wakey wakey!! * +
