D flat6 configuration is d best performance design as it uses a crossplane crankdesign. D straight6 wil b best fo durability (if it boasts a longer stroke than bore) as its big on low rev torque. D v6 is basicaly just a compact design of a 6cyl and allow d crank to accomodate two bigend journals between mainbrgs. So u loose atleast 3 mainbrgs from straigt to v6 and that spares weight nd cost. So in short, no configuration is the best, its a matter of practicality nd cost. * +

vr6 only has one head apossed to a v6 having 2 heads now whos stupid........ duh for me be straight or v *
