depends what engine it is! how much bhp its pumping out? turbo can go any time if its not warmed up and cooled down properly! * +

Don't rev them when the engine is cold and you have good oil pressure. Dont blip the throttle and turn it off because the turbo will still be spinning quickly with no oil pressure. although some systems have a supplementary system now * +

let it idle for a few minutes after you stop before turning it off and as spartan says take it easy till you engine is up to temp and i can't say it enough change your oil frequently. i didn't and it cost me 700 just to get the turbo reconditioned. * +

Wat they al said is correct nd important but theres more.. If u had a turbo conversion done, iow its not a standard production setup. Theres alot to b taken care of. Thats why im against aftermarket 'bolt on' kits nd ! If want reliability, theres stuff such as fuel mixture ratios nd boost volume that must b tuned perfectly. If u like changin ur boost regulation frequently just for fun, ur gona land in sh.it sum time.. Ur fkn up ur fuel mixture at d same time! * +

Further its important to hav d correct compression ratio for boostin, also to make sure turbo oilfeed is sufficiant i.e pro's wil tell u wat size d feedpipe shud b nd oilpress etc. Also wat type of oil shud b used! (u dnt run any turbo on 20w50 midas/spirex brands). Theres issues such as heat extraction/ventilation, intercooler size, induction type/size, nd last type of fuel, sparkpluggaps nd ignition timing. If u dnt hav work fo a turbo, just stay away coz its gonna cost u money al d way. Go n * +
