ok so i had my head gasket replaced around 18 months ago. After i got home from work i noticed the radiator coolant was bubbling and its turned a browny colour. Just wondering if it is the gasket again what am i looking at in terms of repair cost, or would i be better off selling it and getin another? Its a rover 416sri hatch btw. Any help appreciated. * +

Mabe u shud look at y the head went to start with.. Mabe the overheating is the cause of the head gasket fail, rather than the head gasket making it overheat? * +

K series is famous i'm afraid. Warped head. Once it overheats, the head warps and you will be forever trying to fix leaking head gaskets. sorry * +

Just sounds like you've got no coolant in it. All ally engine though,so brown water is unexpected. We all know what oil in water looks like,if they're seperate its oil and its time to get a quality car instead. * +

Ok im no expert lol but its better of maybe getting a new car,coz if this keeps happnin time to time and u have to keep repairing it,just get another car * +

Ps, quick check, when engine cold fill coolant up to max line, run engine till fans kick in, then turn off n allow to cool, fill to max line if ness. Then check oil filler cap and see if any White residue ? If none, n doesn't use coolant /no White smoke comes out back, then maybe had air block or cr*p in system, n keep an eye on level, if uses water then may have small leak * +
