I did a mp9 conversion on a 1.8i(vw golf cti) after it blew a head gasket. I used a velociti 1.4i head. It run well. But it pushes oil through the breather and dip stick lifts up with high revs. * +

There was nothing wrong with the bottom end. Den i managed to get my hands on a 1.8i mp9 head. It ran perfectly. * +

Only difference between the heads is the size of the inlet valves. Why did the 1.4i head do dat? * +

Maybe larger to let more air in to give quicker response time to make up for smaller cc, as they rev higher than larger cc engines, so guessing needs to breathe quicker * +

And results in the oil breather hoses and dip stick being filled with this extra volume of back fed air, as larger valve means quicker/possibly larger volume of air in cylinder * +

The 1.8i head hav bigger inlet vavles. The 1.4i is smaller. * +

My understanding is the 1.8i has bigger valves bcoz it needs more air. * +
