Didn't see this, if I were u, stop car at night, engine running, pop hood, and see if can see sparks tracking/earthing from ht leads? As to me, sounds like a dodgy ht lead, as under normal load, spark uses a set amount of electricity via spark, under load(acceleration) uses higher amount n if ht lead cracked split etc it earths on engine, n get chuggy feeling and sounds like running on 3cylinders * +

Or coil? Try leads first n try cleaning sparks whilst there, easy test is take (with engine off) pull a lead out n sit on engine, start n see if spark , repeat for all 4 leads, do not touch with engine running!!!! Unless plastic pliars used * +

Fuel filter can cause this,too. But check the ignition leakage first,as people are saying above - as stray sparks can cause fire. * +
