If it aint a sealed type battery pop the covers off the top, check fluid level, plates should be submerged, if needed top up with distilled water, remove cars wiring from battery, attach charger clamps 2 battery, red 2 positive, black 2 negative then charge overnight... Don't go near it with a naked light or cig ! If battery still struggles after charge u'll likely need a new un... * +

make sure you dont have a faulty charger too, attach one lead to each nipple and switch on, if you die, its working properly
