Ok mates,tomorrow i'll be fitting ignition barrel to my e36 bmw,now i've never done this so a few pointers pleade?hanes manual shows 1 way while wikipedia says ignore what hynes says do it their way,while some1 on a forum has another way,i'm stumped coz 1 talks about drilling it!1 the steering turn technique,which sounds the easiest. * +

I also need to get the key encoded,for the immobalizer,but cant find a quote thats in ZAR's,any1 know how much that will set me back? * +

Can't you find a local specialist and talk to a techician? Or go to an alarm specialist, as sure they d give good advice:) * +

lol,jyeetkak you are right there,but what the heck,dawg i wanna diy it,found out it'll cost a lot if i change the ignition coz then it involves ecu's immobalisers,just gonna change the door locks as the originals were sna*ched during a fight,also found out some of the prices today. * +

Get proper advice first mate , as will royalyur car up if not, door locks are easy, taking door tobpieces is a pain but barrel I've never done, but will cost u if get wrong, join a BMW forum:) * +
