Thinking of getting an impreza turbo, probably around an 02 and preferably the 5 door/estate. Anybody know any common problems/things to watch out for?

clocked cars or modifide and driven too death cars . thankfully the estate wich in my oppinion is the better car wasnt vandilised as much so service history and no smoke and u should get your self a crackin car * +

the one i've been looking at is a 52 plate, 70.000 miles, full subaru service history, unmodified, 3695 haven't seen it in the metal yet but i'll keep an eye out for smoke. i'm not to clued up on boxer engines either, do they have a cam belt(s) or chains? * +

my bro-in-law got a 97 5 door, loves it, watch the bodywork if it's an import-jap cars have no anti rust treatment-they don't use salt on their roads. Couple of years here and the body starts to go. He's been to a couple of 'off the shelf' breakers just to ask about prices of parts and they say they get very few scoobies in for breaking cos they go on and on. * +

Ta for that mate, i was trying to avoid imports anyway so at least i've got a good reason to now 
that one i was looking at got sold yesterday so i'm going to wait till after xmas now, spend a few months doing plenty of research. *
