well after about 9mnths i finally started up the bmw again, charged the battery, dropped a lil oil thru the spark plug holes and she fired up 1st time...so now the quest is picking up speed again. been doin some more research this week and found some interestin info on droppin a supra lump in. 1st of all theres 2 versions of the 2jz, 1 was in supra the other in aristo/lexus300... * +

...to clear the steering rack i need the 2jz with the oilpan on the rear of the motor, and the stock ecu can remain to run alarm, abs, windows etc but need a seperate engine management system runnin as a piggy back system 4 fuelin and ignition. the stock diff n sides hafts can remain but props haft will probly have to be shortened and balanced again. my biggest problem is still findin a gearbox * +

there a company in Pretoria that make custom bell housings but its expensive and 1 of the reasons i wanna do this conversion is cos my bmw gearbox is busted and in my view to expensive to repair....so question time...didnt the 3.0 cressida ever come out with a manual box? If so wont that fit straight onto the 2jz? How much is my 140hp/103kW 318is motor worth if it only has 140 000kms on it? * +

call engine den ask them what your engine go's for fastest way to find out. and yes the cressida did come out wit a 5 speed manual IIRC it should fitt the blocks are the same. * +

As far as ma knowledge serves me d cresida 3.0 ran d 7mge motor nd neva came out in manual. Either way u wudnt b able to use anytin of it cos d 2j n 7m block differs largely. I recomend u get a 21r box nd bellhousing to suit d 2jz motor mixdup.. Also i recomend u to use a diktator managment system to run d motor coz theyr reliable nd easy to map. D 2jz twinturbo 316kw standard. Upgradin d.. * +

..turbo to a t66 nd 6x 650cc injectors wil see u 500kw at d rear wheels! Jst remembr to get d waterpump done 1st b4 runnin d motor. Its essential dat they close off d bypa55 valve in d waterpump or u mite loose d cylinder head!
