ford has devoloped laser ignition...LASER IGNITION!!!...no more spark plugs, the mixture gets zapped in the combustion chamber by a laser beam or multiple beams. How cool is that?...just wonderin how expensiv it will be to maintain... * +

dont think it wud give any advantage to the power produced tho..its just triggerin the combustion with heat..no difference to the output..just sounds cool * +

well they reckon tech uses less space which allows for bigger valves and also much improved combustion cos they can actually ignite different parts of the chamber at different times...reported will b used on production vehicles by early 2011...still waiting for my mate that works for ford to give me some more info * +
