After much searchin Im considering buying a honda vfr400 nc30. I dont know much bout bikes so could anyone advise me as to how i would go about inspecting a used bike when making a purchase? Thanks in advance * +

Check the frame for any dents or cracks, the forks for any pitting or leaking seals, tyres, chain sprockets or any obvious dodgy repairs. * +

ah yeah...i remember the 400 days, had a nc30 for bout 2yrs and it gave me neverending electrical problems so i traded it in on a nc35 which...gave me endless electrical problems
...nice bikes tho had the 35 for bout 5yrs n eventually had to sell it to upgrade but i still miss it almost evry day...apart frm a big v-twin or the new r1 its 1 of my favourite sounding engines * +

since i c u in africa it gonna be a grey and possibly crashed more times than any1 cares to remember so as tony said check frame and suspension. they tend to bend the swingarm pivot when crashed due to the single sided design easy way to check is to look if its rubbing against the heelplate of the footpeg on the left hand side. or to ask some1 to ride it down the road and then check if it's * +

...running straight. also check for soggy rear suspension as the nc30's are at least 20yrs old now and a shock is very expensive. also check if it's charging cos they hav a habbit of blowing the reg/rec unit which controls ur charge voltage 4 the battery, best done with a voltmeter but quick unaccurate way is to check if the lights go brighter when u rev it but there shudnt b an extreme * +

...difference in brightnes but to b safe use a voltmeter cos u probly wont kno wat an extreme difference is 
...and i think thats about it...some mad aftermarket body kits 4 those these days, tyga replica at 1/4 the price...anyway hope u get a good 1 if u get 1, it's the best 400 money can buy in my opinion...flippen strong almost indestructable engines that rev like crazy...u hav great fun * +
