Funnily enough 5th gear pitched the 135 against the cayman and the bm beat it in ever test. They are 4 different cars. The Z4 and slk are convertibles while the porsche ain't and the tts is only in the coupe at the moment so 2 cars out of the race. So merc don't really have anything like them and you'd have to have the 135 instead if the z4. 3 litre twin turbo 0-62 has been done in just under 5 * +

, does about 29 mpg on a combined cycle 7 mpg if your hammering it. Servicing costs are cheap (for a change) and it's a coupe. There is the convertible in it but the only coupe in a similar size to compete from * +

The only one I've driven is the 135. The tts ain't had the best write ups. The cayman is a beautiful car. Depending on how much you have to spend you get more for your money in the bm than the other 2 * +

Oops my bad lets say porsche boxter* n the new z4 (sdrive35 or sumthng lyk tht wierd nomencleture bmw is using) uses the 3.5l engine the 135 uses* n ther is a convertible TTS it has a canvas top lyk the TT RS (i thnk yet to check) * +

It's a 3.0l twin turbo not 3.5l. The 135 convertible makes people stop and stare but then BMW cabs always have. Yes the tt has a canvas roof, I doubt it would ever get a metal one due to weight and space. Can would have to be extended in order to store it. * +

But the new z4 looks even better up close however expensive! A xdrive23 costs just under 29k before any extras spec one with the essentials and kiss goodbye to a further 7-8k! The boxter however has never been a looker. * +
