On the contrary stock rom is just a stock rom which comes out of the box from your manufacturer. It has all the things preloaded but consist of some unwanted restrictions and apps. * +

Custom rom can enhance your phone with new looks ,remove unwanted apps, boost your phone's performance. Custom rom on android can be flashed very easily though without pc * +

I prefer stock in terms of convenience as it has all the little additions and extras they have, and i like custom due to how much further it can take the phone, but i dnt always nd that so i went bk to stock two days ago and couldnt be happier, waiting for 2.3.4 update now. * +

Yeah with custom rom we can get the android updates that manufacturers doesn't provide. Ex. For galaxy 3 froyo roms were available before 8 or 9 months and samsung provided it in end of april. Mini x10 and pro also have gingerhead roms * +
