if you run froyo. i don't see the point. most features u need root for are already available. except you desperately need an app that requires root. i don't advice you root it. just because you can doesn't mean you should. fyi - my OP1 is still in stock mode, despite touch screen bug. * +

with root you can overclock your phone, you can uninstall bloatware (system apps) and you can use apps like titanium back up to back up all your apps and settings to restore when you want and the list goes on. an android phone without root is like a hotdog with no ketchup, mustard. you can still eat it but it doesn't have all the flavor. * +

my phone is rooted and it has no limitations i have access to roughly 20 custom firmwares which add so much more functionality than stock ever did. it has much better battery life, moves much quicker and i can even run my processor at up to 1.9ghz if i want. * +
