Had a choice between the Nokia N8, htc Desire HD and the original Desire, htc touch HD2 and SE x10, iPhone4. And i chose the Original Desire * +

Could've chose any phone that i wanted bt it had to be the desire. Htc: Desire Hd and touch Hd2 were too big for me, 4.3inch is no joke. The Legend was tempty. WP7(htc trophy) OS is still in it's early days ... SE x10 is the only high end SE android available in SA and the x10 being limited to android2.1 (eclair) was a major turn off... * +

Motorola: wanted the milestone2 but only the original milestone was available... Nokia: N8 is a great phone and in my opinion it beats the Desire and im still going to buy one in six months time, just waiting for the new UI and Symbian 4 to be fully intergrated into the device that's one of the reasons why you won't be seeing me going around the s60 furom saying android this! android that! * +

Motorola: wanted the milestone2 but only the original milestone was available... Samsung: never liked them and never will, as for the Bada OS i seriously doubt it will survive unless samsung stops making phones with other operating systems and starts putting bada on all their smartphones... * +

Maemo is great but here in SA the N900 is very limited and as for MeeGo the waiting was just too long for me... So that's how i ended up with Desire. And im LOVING it. * +

Weird, ive got 2.2 on my X10 ;D lol. Congrats though, welcome to the world of Android, you made the best decision 
i doubt you'll even care about the N8 in 6months time when you're running a Android2.3 MIUI custom ROM and tweaking the hell out of it. ;) * +

thanks polo, the UI is refreshing and im loving the Live Wallpapers and Wi-fi hotspot but typing is still a nightmare * +
