I was reading something today where somebody said their HTC Wildfire has Android 2.3 on it. Looking on the net shows that it will be released, but isn't yet. How is that possible? Does anybody know of any release dates for the update, or is it already out? 
I want to be able to update my mums phone when it is. * +

She has the HTC Desire, but I checked for updates and I see nothing at all. * +

no official 2.3 yet but theres a custom rom thread, follow the links to modaco or xda you see lots of great custom roms there som 2.3 ports too * +

I'd expect 2.3 for the Desire and Desire HD to be released later this year, but you never know with Htc, it could come out tomorrow, but it wouldn't make sense (excuse the pun) ,as MWC is around the corner and they will want their newer phones (announced nxt week) to have it 1st. * +
