Im currently using an Htc Desire, rooted with S-Off (Security off).. I recommend Leedroids 2.3f (most recent as of 5/2/11, i've found it to be the stablest 2.2 (froyo) rom out right now. Works well out of the box. Grab the rom - http://db.tt/IaHeWx7 * +

im gurrently using a htc hero, rooted, loads of roms out there, there are a few gingerbread roms out, but all have a few niggles here and there, most stable one is elelinux 7.0.0 rc0.3 ..... but the most stable roms are cronos froyo 1.7.3 or elelinux special edition final froyo 2.2.1 both work very very well and stable, and agree with the man fluidz, xda is the best android forum * +
